Ellis Faas Glow Up Vs Makeup Revolution Highlight

Hi my Lovelies!

Well it's been a while and the plain and simple reason is my health conditions have worsened! But we aren't here to talk about that, we're here to talk about my HOLY GRAIL highlighter, it's The One! I finally found it!!

I LOVE highlighters! Applied correctly they give such a youthful glow and add shape and dimension to your face. But I do have a problem with most highlighters because of the little glittery particles. They look great from a distance, or on a night out but I've just always been searching for that one that gives you a glow but without shimmer overkill or tiny sparkles of glitter that drift across your face!

Having said that, my normal favourites of my discontinued Dior Amber Diamond highlighter (sob) and Bobbi Browns shimmer bricks are my steadfasts, and I always get complimented when I'm wearing them, but I still hanker for a finely milled, glossy glow without shimmer!

I have found it! It's the Ellis Faas Glow Up highlighter! I have it in Porcelain (furthest left on the picture below) and its so finely milled that it glows without shimmer, and although it's a powder it feels like creamy velvet and I LOVE it! It's £18 but that's just for the highlighter, the compact to put it in costs a further £8 but you don't HAVE to have the compact, it will be perfectly fine kept flat in a little sealed Baggie, but, well, you know me and my magpie tendencies 😉.

I'm actually going to add a YouTube clip to the bottom of this of it being applied to darker skin to highlight, and this shows exactly how well it works, the glow with no shimmer, but still a glow (I'm not a fan of matte highlighters, they just don't add that youthful glow & I'm getting on a bit, I need all the help I can get!)

You might have noticed in the pic that although it looks completely different, I have found a very good dupe for the princely sum of £3 (I know, right?!) from Makeup Revolution. Now, this still shows up finely milled, with no glittery particles and a lovely glow. However, it IS baked, which isn't my favourite texture personally, I don't like the feel of baked products, so doesn't deliver that soft velvety feel that has me addicted to the Ellis Faas Glow up. But, as such a budget product, to give pretty much the same finish, it's got to be worth a mention! And as much as I love high end, I also love finding a budget dupe. My winner here is clearly the Ellis Faas but if that is out of budget or you simply want to mess around with different looks, Makeup Revolution is definitely the way to go!

And I purchased my Makeup Revolution from Superdrugs as I go through Quidco.com & get cashback!

The link for the very quick Ellis Faas Glow Up video tutorial, which I recommend watching if you're thinking of purchasing, to see how subtle yet effective the glow really is, is HERE, and it's so worth watching, especially if like me, you tend to go a bit reckless and overexcited with new highlighters. Ahem!

Thanks for reading my lovelies & you take care!
