Hi my lovelies!
Well this is a quick update on my super long lasting manicure that I posted HERE, which I applied on the 19th November, 2 weeks and 3 days ago. My manicure started to chip 3 days ago, only on my right hand which is my dominant hand. I needed to start peeling off labels for Christmas wrapping and stopped worrying about soaking my hands in water, and lo and behold it started to chip!
You can see in the picture (bottom of post) of my left hand, which is my non-dominant hand, that it is just worn at the edges, but no chips.
As I was doing my post about how to make your mani last a long time, I thought this time I'd actually test out other tips on how to make a mani last, which normally I don't have the patience to try, and see exactly how long I could make this stay put for!
The other well-known tips I followed to keep the longevity, were:
1. I used rubber gloves when washing up
2. When bathing, I soaked in the bath with my hands out of the water - when water gets under the edge of your polish, its only a matter of time before it weakens the polish and you get chips
3. I stopped using my nails as screwdrivers, and handy DIY tools! No picking off of labels, no using my nails to turn a loose screws (I'm a single mum, sometimes I just don't have time to drag the tool kit out!), all these things I simply used the proper tools instead of my nails!
Having followed the exact procedure as I stated in my Manicure article, and following the above tips, it amazed me to see my manicure staying completely intact until 3 days ago, which gave me a full 2 week manicure, using only my normal nail polishes and the base and top coats as described in the
article.
This was my own personal experiment, and although I do believe some brands of polishes chip faster than others, its still brilliant too see my mani lasting for so long!
Please let me know if you can get your manicure to stay on for an equally long time, a longer time, or you can CONTACT ME if you have problems getting your mani to last beyond 2 days, and I will try and come up with a routine that will get yours lasting longer too!
In the meantime, please don't forget that my Big Christmas Giveaway ends on Monday, click here to see how to enter, its easy peasy and includes a size 12 hot pink Lipsy party dress, a black patent quilted handbag, an Inglot Freedom Palette made up by me, some Benefit make up and a couple of little bits - now there is no excuse not to go on that Christmas night out now, you could even gift some of these for Christmas pressies if they aren't your cup of tea! Keep an eye out on Twitter for my #Giveaway tweets, re-tweet them and follow myself and Slummy Mummy for your chance to win!
Don't forget to let me know how long your mani lasts!
Take care my lovelies!
